Our Programs
Five ways we show up for kids with sickle cell disease
300+ packages delivered across the country
Comfort delivered to every bedside
Care Package Program
Hospital stays are hard — especially for kids. Our Care Package Program delivers thoughtfully curated boxes filled with comfort items, toys, personal care essentials, and handwritten notes of encouragement directly to pediatric sickle cell patients during their hospital or outpatient stays. Every package is assembled with love by our student volunteers.
How it works
- 1
Student chapters collect and assemble care packages at local drives
- 2
Packages are coordinated with hospital social workers and child life teams
- 3
Delivered directly to pediatric sickle cell patients during their stay
Hundreds of connections made between patients and peer volunteers
No child should feel alone in the fight
Stay Connected
Long hospital stays can be incredibly lonely. Stay Connected exists to remind kids that they are not alone. Through penpals, virtual events, and other activities, this program is designed to reduce isolation.
How it works
- 1
Volunteers are trained and matched with hospitalized youth
- 2
Virtual sessions are scheduled around the patient's comfort and availability
- 3
Ongoing relationships are nurtured through consistent check-ins and activities
Students supported across multiple grade levels and subjects
Missing school shouldn't mean falling behind

Sessions are held virtually to accommodate recovery and hospital schedules

- 2
Care packages and resources are shipped or coordinated locally
